Pakistan’s capital city Islamabad has unveiled its first state-of-the-art digital parking system, developed to meet international standards. The system was soft-launched in the G-8 sector on Friday, marking a significant step in modernizing urban parking in metropolis located against the backdrop of serene Margalla Hills.
Capital Development Authority CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited new system, and initially parking will be free to raise public awareness about the digital parking initiative.
The new system allows users to obtain parking tickets from their vehicles and make payments digitally through various methods, including credit cards, debit cards, QR codes, and scratch cards.
Islamabad Digital Parking
The first phase of the rollout will see the system introduced in the F-7 sector and Centaurus Blue Area parking plaza, with plans to expand to other business centers across the city. CDA’s technology wing has employed advanced technology to implement this digital solution.
Chairman Randhawa emphasized that the revenue from the digital parking system will be used to uplift the markets where it is implemented, and he anticipated improvements in business and economic conditions as a result of this innovation.
