ISLAMABAD – The federal government has appointed Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz Satti as Chairman of Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).
President Asif Ali Zardari has also approved the appointment on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A notification in this regard has also been issued.
The appointment has been made for the period of three years or the chairman reaches the age of 65 years.
The post of FPSC chairman fell vacant after Shahid Ashraf Tarar was made federal minister in the interim government setup last year.
FPSC has been mandated to conduct tests and examinations for recruitment of persons to All-Pakistan Services, the civil services of the Federation, and civil posts in connection with affairs of the Federation in basic scales 16 and above or equivalent.
