KARACHI – Pakistan Test team captain Shan Masood has dismissed rumors of a dressing room altercation with fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi after the team’s defeat in the first Test against Bangladesh.

Speaking on the matter, Test captain Shan Masood clarified, “There was no fight between Shaheen and me. The viral video showing me moving my hand from his shoulder was misunderstood. He was in pain at the time, and I had placed my hand on the exact spot, which was wrongly interpreted,”.

Earlier, the reports emerged following the historic 10-wicket defeat against Bangladesh, suggesting a clash between Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi regarding the fast bowlers’ performance.

According to the rumors, Shan Masood had criticized the fast bowlers’ performance to Head Coach Jason Gillespie, which allegedly led to the confrontation.

Besides it, a video clip went viral, showing Shaheen Afridi moving Shan Masood’s hand away from his shoulder, further fueling speculations about a disagreement between the two.

It may be mentioned here that the national team suffered a humiliating defeat in the Test series against Bangladesh, with the Bengal Tigers securing their first-ever Test match and series victory over Pakistan.
