MIANWALI – The Terrorists attacked the Kabul Khan police checkpoint at Isa Khel police station Mianwali, but the Punjab Police successfully thwarted the attack.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 12 to 14 Khawarij terrorists took advantage of the darkness of night and attacked the Kabul Khel checkpoint with rocket launchers and hand grenades.
The Punjab Police officers stationed at the checkpoint were alert, and intense return fire caused the cowardly terrorists to retreat.
The spokesperson for the Punjab Police said that two officers stationed at the checkpoint were injured by gunfire during the terrorists’ attack. The terrorists managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
As soon as the information was received, DPO Mianwali Akhtar Farooq immediately reached the checkpoint. He personally went to the upper post and commended the officers for successfully repelling the attack.
DSP Isa Khel and the SHO, along with a large contingent, are present at the police checkpoint, and a search operation is ongoing in the area.
The police have stated that the fleeing terrorists are likely to have suffered significant losses.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised DPO Mianwali and the brave officers at the Kabul Khel checkpoint for successfully thwarting the terrorist attack.
IG Punjab stated that this was the 9th terrorist attack on the Punjab Police in the past few months that has been foiled.
The Punjab Police serve as a solid barrier against terrorists at the inter-provincial border checkpoints.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar further added that God willing, the Punjab Police would continue to crush the nefarious intentions of the enemy in the future as well.
