42-day mandatory waiting period for obtaining motorcycle license abolished

LAHORE – The Punjab government has abolished the mandatory waiting period of 42 days to apply for the permanent license for motorcycle after getting the learner permit.

Previously, citizens, who were applying for motorcycle license, had to wait for 42 days after obtaining the learner permit to appear in test.

The latest announcement has enable them to appear in the Test for the motorcycle permanent license without waiting for the 42 days.

CTO Lahore Ammara Athar said there will no longer be a waiting period after obtaining a learner’s permit for a motorcycle license. The 42-day learner’s period for motorcycle licenses is being eliminated temporarily.

Ammara Athar explained that now, citizens can obtain their license by taking the test immediately after getting the learner permit.

She stated that this facilitation aims to save valuable time and to promote law-abiding citizens.

Fine of Riding Bike Without Driving License

A fine of Rs2,000 is imposed for driving without a license. Citizens can obtain a motorcycle license for one, two, or five years.
