Police have established a special investigation team to probe the Karsaz accident involving the alleged driver, Natasha. The incident, which occurred on August 19, resulted in the deaths of Imran Arif, 60, and his daughter Amna Arif. Natasha has been charged in connection with the accident.

The police have collected all relevant CCTV footage, which is currently under review. A blood test report for Natasha is expected within 24 hours, which may lead to additional sections being added to the FIR. New sections, including Section 322 Qatal-bis-Sabab (murder without intention), may be added to the case. This section carries a potential prison sentence of 10 to 18 years and also allows for a settlement known as diyat (blood money), which could amount to approximately Rs 6.8 million. The victim’s family may opt for a settlement, which could close the case.

Meanwhile, the police are seeking additional CCTV footage and have urged other victims or witnesses to come forward. DIG East has assured that justice will be served and has visited the victims’ residence to offer condolences and support. Natasha remains in judicial custody, following a court order for her production and medical report. The incident, which occurred on August 19, resulted in the deaths of Imran Arif, 60, and his daughter Amna Arif.
