Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal should lead to a boost in athletics. Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem clinched the Olympic victory by winning the gold medal. Arshad finally won Olympic gold after having competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he had the distinction of being the first Pakistani to qualify for the final of his event.

Until 1984, Pakistan only won Olympic medals in men’s field hockey, and that was the last time Pakistan reached an Olympic victory stand. Arshad has shown that there is talent aplenty, and that some few gifted individuals can defy the odds to produce amazing results, but still, there would be greater efforts by the authorities to provide an enabling environment. That actually means putting up more money, impartial administrative decisions.

The general category is track and field because while some events, such as races, take place on tracks, others, like the javelin throw, need fields. One suggestion is that there should be a dedicated athletic stadium, of which there are presently none. That would ensure that no future talented youngster would be deprived of the facilities he needs, as Arshad once was.

Congratulations, Arshad!

Arshad Nadeem has made us proud. With an unbeatable record of 92.97 meters, MashaAllah, it’s the first time that Pakistan has taken gold in the javelin throw competition at the Paris Olympics. Many congratulations to Arshad Nadeem, his family and the whole country on this over-win. Before the 14th of August, he gave the gift to the nation and I would like to extend much luck to the other participants. I would like to congratulate silver medallist Neeraj Chopra and bronze medallist A. Peter. Arshad Nadeem’s credit solely belongs to him; without strong support from governing bodies, he has a wholesome moment for life. His journey might be tough, but he has gotten awesome results.

Paying for his injuries out of his own pocket and training in 40-degree Celsius heat without air conditioning is no easy feat. Such dedication can only come from a man with immense passion, as evidenced by his game. He truly deserves this win. I urge the concerned authorities to pay attention to Pakistan’s Olympic athletes. Like the hockey team, Arshad Nadeem has achieved success through his own efforts. It is his passion and commitment to his field that have driven him, despite the lack of adequate resources.

Global warming

Our planet, a delicate sphere suspended in the vast cosmos, is facing a profound threat: global warming. As individuals and communities, we are witnessing the alarming effects of climate change firsthand—rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and melting ice caps, to name a few. The scientific consensus is clear: human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, are major contributors to the rapid increase in greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.

These gases trap heat leading to warm the planet and disrupt the ecosystems worldwide. It is imperative that we take immediate and decisive action to mitigate the impacts of global warming. Government should enact and enforce rigorous environmental regulations, invest renewable energy infrastructure, support green imitatives and participate in combating global warming effectively.

By setting ambitious emission reduction targets, investing in clean technologies, and promoting environmental stewardship, recipient’s organization can make a significant difference in the fight against the global warming. We have a moral obligation to protect our planet for present and future generations. Each of us has a very important role in addressing the challenge of global warming.

Educational challenges

Education is a fundamental right and a crucial component for the development of individuals and societies. However, access to quality education remains a significant challenge for students living in remote and rural areas. These students face unique obstacles that hinder their ability to obtain the same level of education as their urban counterparts. Understanding these challenges is essential for creating effective solutions that can bridge the educational gap between remote areas and more developed regions.

One of the most pressing issues faced by students in remote areas is the lack of educational infrastructure. Many rural regions do not have enough schools, and those that do exist often lack essential facilities such as libraries, laboratories, and even basic amenities like clean drinking water and electricity. The scarcity of schools means that students may have to travel long distances to attend classes, which can be both time-consuming and dangerous, especially in regions with poor transportation networks.

Another significant challenge is the shortage of qualified teachers in remote areas. Many teachers are reluctant to work in rural regions due to inadequate facilities, low salaries and limited professional development opportunities. As a result, schools in these areas are often staffed by under-qualified or untrained teachers who may not have the skills or resources to deliver quality education. This lack of qualified educators directly impacts the students’ learning outcomes and diminishes their chances of academic success.
