IG Sindh, GhulamNabiMemon chaired a comprehensive meeting was held to review security arrangements for Independence Day celebrations across the province. The meeting, attended in person by Additional IG Karachi, DIGs of various departments, and senior officers from CIA, East, West, South, and other divisions, also included participation via video link from DIGs of Hyderabad, SBA, Mirpurkhas, and SSPs from Larkana and Sukkur.
Strategies were outlined to curb aerial firing during Independence Day celebrations, with a focus on preventive measures and effective police response. IG Sindh directed that security be heightened significantly at and around the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam.
All offices, vehicles, and buildings under Sindh Police will be decorated with green and white flags and lights. Strict actions will be taken against the use of loud pressure horns and various noisy instruments. Owners of motorcycles without silencers or those causing excessive noise will face legal action. IG Sindh emphasized that from today, all personnel should be on high alert. Officers will ensure strategic deployment of police forces during Independence Day events. Security measures will be coordinated with all relevant stakeholders.
The intelligence network will be activated to prevent aerial firing. Mobile motorcycle patrols will be made more effective and coordinated. Immediate response will be ensured if aerial firing incidents are reported. IG Sindh underscored the need for foolproof security measures at all levels to ensure a safe and celebratory Independence Day.
