This development follows meeting between Pakistani ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and Talaibek Baigaziev, the Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Energy, where they discussed energy cooperation.

The envoy expressed satisfaction with progress of CASA-1000 project and anticipated its completion by the end of 2026. He further mentioned that Central Asian nation is looking to discuss all proposal with Pakistan’s Power Minister.

In the upcoming huddle, both sides will shed light on potential coal supply from Central Asia to Pakistan and the possibility of supplying Pakistani electricity to Kyrgyzstan during winter via CASA-1000 project.

Pakistani authorities previously explored importing Kyrgyz coal and offering electricity through CASA-1000 at Pakistan-Kyrgyz Republic Joint Ministerial Commission.

Islamabad and Bishkek are working to strengthen their business ties, focusing on several key areas to enhance bilateral cooperation. Both sides are also looking to expand trade and investment opportunities across various sectors, including mining, agriculture, and infrastructure.
