Sindh’s Minister for Industries and Commerce, Jam Ikramullah Khan Dharejo, has announced plans to lead a delegation to Islamabad next week to address the release of funds under PSDP schemes for the SITE area. These funds, which have been pending for two years, are designated for the construction of 49 roads in the SITE area.
Speaking as the chief guest at a SITE Association of Industry event, Dharejo, accompanied by Secretary Industries Sindh Muhammad YaseenSharBaloch and Managing Director SITE Limited Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, highlighted his commitment to resolving industry issues. He emphasized the need for a SITE Development & Management Company, modeled after Karachi’s other industrial area management companies, and pledged strict action against encroachments in the SITE area.
The Minister has also called for the completion of e-services within a week and plans to meet with the Police Chief next week to discuss law and order issues in SITE. Additionally, Dharejo announced the establishment of a complaint cell to address grievances related to cooperative societies and digitization of cooperative records.
SITE President Muhammad Kamran Arbi expressed gratitude for Dharejo’s regular visits and outlined critical issues, including the need for road repairs and a water recycling plant. Patron-in-Chief ZubairMotiwala criticized the implementation of SITE Limited’s decisions and called for a Gated Community system and a Combined Effluent Treatment Plant to address water and compliance issues.
Chief Coordinator Saleem Parekh requested the Minister to resolve licensing issues for sub-soil operators and stressed that the Industries Department should serve as the primary point of contact for industry-related problems. He also advocated for an extension of the MD, SITE Limited’s tenure due to his effective performance.
