Karachi, Hyderabad, Sindh weather update; more rains, gusty winds likely

KARACHI – More intermittent rains and gusty winds are likely in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate the central/southern parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over northern parts of the country.

Under these conditions, more rains and gusty winds are likely in Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Karachi, Jamshoro, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Larkana, Mohenjo-daro, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Dadu on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the province. However, more rains are likely in Tharparkar, Umarkot, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Karachi, Jamshoro and Dadu.

Heavy falls may cause urban flooding in the low-lying areas of lower Sindh and Karachi during the forecast period.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 32-34°C on Wednesday and 33-35°C on Thursday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Wednesday and 34-36°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls occurred in Karachi and parts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Khairpur remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Rohri was recorded at 42°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 82 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 82 per cent.
