Two dead, 8 injured in Mardan blast

MARDAN – At least two people were killed and eight others injured in an explosion in Mardan city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.

The blast took place near Jalala bridge in Takht Bhai tehsil. The injured people include policemen, women and children and they have been shifted to THQ hospital for treatment.

Police have cordoned off the area to collect evidence.

Earlier this week, five people including former senator have been killed in a remote-controlled bombing in Bajaur on Wednesday.

The attack specifically targeted ex-Senator Hidayatullah, who was killed during the incident in Damadola. Among the casualties were two additional men, identified as Irfan and Nazar Deen.

Hidayatullah was en route for an election campaign when he came under attack. The deceased former senator was the sibling of former KP Governor Shukatullah.

TTP, and several other banned organisation saw significant insurgent group in Pakistan, known for its attacks on military and civilian targets.
