ISLAMABAD – Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, stated on Tuesday that the government intended to keep Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in jail for as long as legally possible. Speaking on a private TV program, Sanaullah emphasized that Khan will remain incarcerated according to the constitution and the law.

Sanaullah remarked that Imran Khan does not believe in dialogue and questioned how to proceed under such circumstances.

He gave these remarks while talking to a private TV.

He asserted that Khan’s political narrative and agenda aim to destabilize the country.

Sanaullah highlighted that the government, too, has received votes and a mandate but stressed that no one has the mandate to create chaos. He reiterated that dialogue is the only democratic method to resolve issues and pointed out that legal cases have been filed against the government as well. He clarified that Khan is imprisoned due to court convictions.

He accused Imran Khan of not believing in democracy, contrasting this with his party’s commitment to political and democratic principles.

“if Khan were willing to embrace democratic processes, there would be no hostility from their side,” he added.
