Google set for joint venture with Pakistan to boost Digital Education initiatives

ISLAMABAD – A high-level team from leading search engine Google is set to visit Pakistan to explore potential collaborations in education and technology sectors.

This delegation, consisting of top officials, will land in Pakistan after Eid ul Adha, officials announced.

The visit of the Google team is in response to a request from education ministry, seeking Google’s support in developing a digitally-enabled education system. Preliminary work has already been conducted by advance teams from Google.

Education Secretary Mohyuddin Wani stated that the Google team will host a national workshop with stakeholders to explore technology solutions for out-of-school children.

He further mentioned that teams of two sides will discuss potential collaboration in the education and technology sectors, and will further explore Pakistan’s youth potential, and other related issues.

The tech giant actively supports education in Asian nation through several other initiatives. They provide tools like Google Classroom and Google Workspace for Education to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

The search engine also collaborates with educational institutions and organizations to promote digital literacy and improve educational standards. Programs such as Google Developer Groups (GDGs), Women Techmakers, and Google Code-in empower students and tech enthusiasts by offering workshops, hackathons, and coding competitions.
