Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastgir said that departmental promotion and increase in ranks in police service in fact enhance the responsibilities of police officers and police officer at any rank should adopt the tradition of observation of merit, prevalence of implementation of law and resolution of issues of the citizens on priority bases.
He further said that during delegation of powers and responsibilities through the department, high professional standard should not be compromised and special attention should be given to maintain law and order in the society along with provision of better service delivery to the public.
He emphasised upon senior officers to play a role of exemplary and unprecedented team leaders by taking better results and performance from subordinate officers and officials so that coordination between police and public may be improved.
These views were expressed by him when he was addressing to officers after fastening badges of DIG on them. IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir and Addl IG Operations Inam Ghani fastened badges of DIG on two officers. Mehboob Rasheed and Malik Muhammad Imtiaz are included in the names of promoted officers who assured to work hard with full commitment and showed commitment to further enhance their work and professionalism with honesty and diligence. Both officers paid thanks to IG Punjab and said that in performance of official duties, rules of modern, smart and community policing shall be kept on preference.
