ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Wednesday disclosed the arrest of poet and journalist Ahmad Farhad, who had gone missing from Islamabad 15 days ago.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the IHC was hearing the case. The Islamabad sector commander and other officials were summoned in the case during the last hearing.
Lawyer Imaan Mazari appeared in court on behalf of Ahmad Farhad’s wife while the Attorney General appeared on behalf of the federal government.
During the hearing, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan informed the Islamabad High Court that Ahmad Farhad is under arrest and in the custody of the Azad Kashmir police.
Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan also presented a report from the Dheer Court police station in Azad Kashmir to the court.
It may be mentioned here that poet Ahmad Farhad had gone missing from the federal capital Islamabad 15 days ago, and his wife Urooj Zainab had filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court for his recovery.
