Pakistan’s squad ‘finalised’ for T20I World Cup 2024

LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalised the Pakistan squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup scheduled to be played in the United States and Caribbean next month.

As per the media reports, Babar Azam will lead the 15-member team which includes three wicketkeeper batsmen. Pacer Haris Rauf has made a comeback after recovering from the injury. The PCB will formally announce the team on May 22 after the first T20I match against England. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set May 25 as the deadline for announcing the World Cup squad.

Pakistan’s squad for T20I World Cup: Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shaheen Afridi, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Abbas Afridi, Haris Rauf

Travelling reserves: Salman Ali Agha, Hasan Ali, Irfan Khan Niazi

Pakistan are in Group A alongside arch-rivals India, Ireland, Canada and the USA. Green Shirts will start the World Cup campaign with a match against the USA on May 6. Pakistan will take on India in the highly anticipated encounter on June 9. Pakistan will play against Canada and Ireland on June 11 and June 16 respectively.
