Responding to the recent Dubai Leaks, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi voiced his dissatisfaction, arguing that it is unjust to label his lifetime earnings as illicit.

The minister clarified that his wife had owned a property in Dubai since 2017, which was later sold in 2023, and disclosed that she also had a property in London.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Thursday, he stressed the necessity of investigating the individuals implicated in the Dubai leaks if any illegal funds were used to acquire properties overseas.

Naqvi reiterated that if his properties were purchased with lawful funds and according to the law, there should be no grounds for media criticism.

He highlighted that all his financial dealings including property acquisitions, have been transparently included in his election returns.

He noted that the property in question was acquired a decade ago when he was not holding any public office.

The minister criticized the selective targeting of individuals with foreign properties, pointing out that thousands of people have such assets, yet only a few are singled out.

He called for action against those who fail to declare their properties and emphasized that legitimate business activities, including overseas investments, should not be stigmatized.
