ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought records from the lawyer on a petition to remove Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zartaj Gul’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri of the IHC passed the order while hearing the plea moved by Zartaj Gul seeking removal of her name from the ECL.
As the hearing commenced, the lawyer representing Zartaj Gul argued that her name is included in PNIL.
The judge asked the lawyer that who directed to include her name in the PNIL. A law officer explained that the name was included in PNIL list based on the recommendations of Islamabad and Punjab Police.
The law officer submitted that that there are five cases against Zartaj Gul in Islamabad and Punjab, and in all of them, she is on bail.
Advocate Osama Advocate, representing the petitioner, said during the hearing that in all the cases mentioned, Zartaj Gul is on bail, and when someone is on bail, their name is also included in the PNIL list.
At this, Justice Jahangiri asked how many cases Zartaj Gul is on bail for, and directed the petitioner to appear before the court on the next date of hearing.
Later, the Islamabad High Court directed Zartaj Gul’s lawyer to appear with records next week and adjourned the further hearing of the case until next week.
