Pakistan Army chief salutes sacrifices of martyrs in investiture ceremony at GHQ

RAWALPINDI – Chief of the Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to those officers and soldiers who laid down their lives in defence of the motherland at an investiture ceremony held at Army Headquarters.

A press release shared by Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said General Syed Asim Munir conferred military awards upon Army personnel for their acts of gallantry during operations and meritorious services rendered to the nation.

Army officers and families of awardees attended the ceremony officers and soldiers were awarded medals including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-I- Basalat. Family members of martyrs received medals at the ceremony.

Chief of Army Staff paid rich tribute to martyrs and Ghazis, ISPR said, saying that there is nothing more noble than laying one’s life for defence of motherland and the sacrifices of our martyrs strengthen our resolve to fight with utmost dedication and spirit of sacrifice.

Gen Asim also hailed the brave families of Shuhada for their high spirits and sacrifices rendered by them. He called Shuhada and Ghazis our national heroes and said the nation owes its independence and security to the sacrifices of its valiant warriors.

Shuhada are, indeed, the beacons of hope and resilience for the nation, COAS added.
