In a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti has said that the BJP is using its power to prevent the National Conference (NC) and her party from campaigning in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to a gathering in Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti said that the BJP was promoting and funding its proxy parties in IIOJ&K, and that the recent rescheduling of the Rajouri-Poonch election was a result of this interference.

She also said that people in Rajouri are being threatened that if they don’t vote for BJP proxies, a situation similar to 1947 will be repeated.

She further stated that the NC was not allowed to hold a rally in north Kashmir’s Baramulla and she herself was not permitted to visit Tral in south Kashmir, citing these actions as attempts to aid the BJP’s proxies.—KMS
