Police, NYPD engage in productive skills exchange

A delegation comprising various ranks of officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD) called on of Inspector General Sindh, GhulamNabiMemon convened meeting at the Central Police Office here on Monday. The meeting, spearheaded by President of the Pakistani American Law Enforcement Society (PALES) Ahmed Khalil, facilitated discussions on mutual interests, including the current security situation and collaborative initiatives aimed at promoting peace and security. Present at the meeting were senior police officials including the DIGs, Headquarters, IT, and Establishment, alongside other dignitaries. IG Sindh, GhulamNabiMemon, provided the visiting delegation with a detailed briefing on the various initiatives and modern techniques employed by the Sindh Police to combat crime and maintain law and order.

 

He highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Sindh Police in utilizing modern technology and techniques to successfully apprehend criminals. Members of the NYPD delegation commended the Sindh Police for its effective use of Geo-fencing and tracking systems in combating crime. They noted the similarities in the security challenges faced by both Karachi and New York City, emphasizing the potential for collaboration in addressing these challenges. President PALES acknowledged the capabilities of the Sindh Police in tackling street crime, drug trafficking, and vehicle theft, among other crimes.

 

He expressed the NYPD’s willingness to benefit from the experiences and initiatives of the Sindh Police. Subsequently, it was decided in the meeting that enhanced cooperation between the two police departments would strengthen law enforcement efforts.
