Governor Punjab Muhammad BalighurRehman conferred Tamgha e Imtiaz on senior journalist, well-known anchor and analyst, Iftikhar Ahmed on behalf of the President of Pakistan.
The civil award was honoured to the senior journalist in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of media during a ceremony at Governor House on Wednesday.
It is pertinent to mention here that senior journalist Iftikhar Ahmed could not attend the civil awards ceremony held at Governor House Lahore on March 23 due to personal commitments.
Governor Punjab Muhammad BalighurRehman has said that the young is the future of the country and efforts of the Pakistan Youth Parliament (PYP) for betterment of the community are commendable.
This was stated by him while talking to a 25-member delegation of PYP headed by its President Muhammad Abu Bakar which called on him at Governor House Lahore on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the delegation presented various suggestions to the Governor Punjab regarding the improvement of the youth.
Meanwhile, Muhammad BalighurRehman said that there were many positive things in the society. He said that we should appreciate the good work, but we should also keep an eye on the shortcomings in the society so that they might be rectified. Governor Punjab also awarded honorary shields to the members of Youth Parliament for their outstanding performance. The delegation presented an honorary souvenir to the Governor of Punjab on behalf of the Youth Parliament.
On this occasion, the delegation also visited the Governor’s House.
