Separate meetings were held between delegations from the Sindh Newspapers Society and the Larkana Press Club with Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon, the Provincial Minister for Information.
The Larkana Press Club delegation, including MurtazaKalhoro, NaveedLarik, MuneerSoomro, Abdul QadirJagirani, and MashooqOdhano, presented the challenges faced by journalists in Larkana to Senior Minister Memon. Assurances were given by Senior Minister Memon to address these issues promptly, as he listened to the concerns of the journalists and was briefed on the issues affecting Larkana city. Another delegation from the Sindh Newspapers Society met Senior Minister Memon, apprising him of the challenges confronting media workers and institutions. In response, Senior Minister Memon assured the delegation that their issues would be resolved.
He underscored the commitment of the Pakistan People’s Party and the Sindh Government to uphold freedom of expression, in line with the vision of ShaheedBibi, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Highlighting the government’s focus on addressing challenges faced by journalist organizations and media workers, Senior Minister Memon emphasized ongoing efforts to tackle longstanding issues. He reiterated the commitment to resolving problems through collaboration with relevant organizations.
The delegation from the Sindh Newspapers Society, including QaziShafiq Ahmed, Rizwan Shah, AyubPirzada, Naseem Sheikh, and Shahid Ansari, participated in the meeting.
