Students worldwide are uniting in solidarity with the people of Gaza, denouncing the ongoing violence inflicted by Israeli forces. What began as a movement at Columbia University has now spread to campuses globally, with condemnations echoing against Israeli aggression. Acting Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, MunaamZafar Khan, voiced staunch support for Gaza, condemning police brutality against students at Columbia University and demanding an end to Israeli atrocities. The sentiment resonated with students, who gathered in solidarity, bearing banners calling for justice and chanting against Israeli oppression. Addressing the crowd, Khan underscored Britain’s historical role in the formation of Israel, denouncing the Balfour Declaration of 1917 as a precursor to the Israeli state’s establishment.

He highlighted the steadfast resistance of Gaza’s Muslim population over the past 76 years, urging the global community to stand in solidarity with their cause. In addition to Karachi, protests have erupted across Europe, with students in France and Germany joining the chorus of condemnation against Israeli violence.

The solidarity movement has gained momentum, with students increasingly vocal in their support for Gaza’s oppressed Muslim population. Amidst the global outcry, Columbia University faced scrutiny for its response to the protests, with students alleging heavy-handed tactics by campus police. Despite threats of disciplinary action, students remain resolute, vowing to continue their demonstrations until justice is served for Gaza.
