Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Aid for financially supporting treatment of patients at Childrens Hospital. He was talking to Mahmoodul Hasan, head of Islamic Aid, at the University of Child Health Sciences, here on Sunday. The minister said that in the eyes of Allah, there is no greater passion than serving humanity. He said that public private partnership creates convenience for people.
May Allah accept the services of Islamic Aid for the suffering humanity, he prayed. Matters of mutual interest were discussed between the both sides. UHS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Masood Sadiq, Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Junaid Rasheed, Professor Dr. Nabila Talhat and Dr. Nasir Rana were present.
Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir attended the 4th Principals Nursing and Allied Health Professional Institutes Conference organized by the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education at the University of Health Sciences as special guests. On this occasion, Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences Professor Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore, Special Secretaries Syed Wajid Ali Shah and Mansoor Ahmed, CEO Punjab Health Initiative Management Company Dr. Ali Razaq, Additional Secretary Usman Khalid, Additional Secretary Mazhar Ahmed, Additional Secretary Dr. Hafiz Shahid Latif, DG Nursing and Principals of Nursing Colleges and other officers attended. The conference was officially started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem.
Secretary Health Punjab Ali Khan highlighted the steps taken for the improvement of the nursing sector in his presentation. Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir during the conference Also reviewed practical exercises of ALS stimulator and medical equipment provided to nursing colleges.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique while addressing the participants of the conference said that he appreciates the efforts of Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan and his team for organizing a conference of principals of nursing and allied health professional institutes on a very important topic. There is a lot of room for improvement. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also directed for the improvement of nursing department. We will visit all nursing colleges and assess the condition. In any public or private hospital, a nurse plays a major role in the treatment of patients.
Khawaja Salman Rafique further said that in today’s session modern training of principals of nursing colleges has also been done. We will try to take the quality of nursing sector of Punjab to international level. Reforms have to be brought for the improvement of the nursing sector. Establishment of day care centers in government hospitals is one of the top priorities.
Provincial Minister of Primary and Secondary Health Care Department Khawaja Imran Nazir in his address to the participants of the conference, said that he is performing his duties in the health department in the spirit of service to humanity. Nursing is the backbone of the health system.
