Keeping in view the significance of Maritime affairs, the FPCCI have once again nominated Mr. Rasheed Jan Muhammad as the Chairman of Pakistan Shipper Council (PSC) for the year 2024-25.
Mr. Rasheed Jan Muhammad has been the Chairman of PSC several times and has the unique distinction of creating Public Private sector partnership in forming National Trade and Transport Facilitation Committee (NTTFC) in the past. NTTFC was instrumental in developing automation in the clearance of consignments by developing a business-friendly document known as “Goods Declaration” GD.
Goods Declaration enabled the trade to do away with the paperwork and the clearance was done Online with only one document. Similarly, NTTFC upgraded many outdated legislations of our Maritime Industry.
Under the leadership of Mr. Rasheed Jan Muhammad, PSC created a very cordial relationship with the Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders and Ship Agents.
Mr. Rasheed Janmuhammad believes that Pakistan has great potential to improve the foreign trade volume, however, to do so infrastructure at Ports need to be improved/expanded. It will be an endeavor of Mr. Rasheed Jan muhammad to work on the improvement of infrastructure with the help of concerned authorities.
The policy of Land Lord concept and project of Build on Transfer (BoT) need to be implemented at all our ports. We have seen very successful results of Land Lord concept at Port Qasim and at Karachi port.
Pakistan Shippers Council (PSC) will not only assist in the facilitation of Maritime trade but will also endeavor to reduce the cost of doing business particularly in the Maritime sector.
Pakistan have great scope in increasing the foreign trade and our ports are one the best ports in the region.
