K-Electric in a collaborated operation with law enforcement agencies removed illegal connections in Lyari and FBArea. The operation highlights the power distribution company’s commitment to combatting electricity theft and ensuring a safe and reliable power supply for its customers. With rising circular debt and line losses posing challenges to the electricity distribution system, K-Electric is working closely with law enforcement agencies and other institutions to crack down on individuals and entities involved in electricity theft.

The operation resulted in the removal of 2800 kilograms of wire used in illegal connections, emphasizing the scale of the problem in these areas. It’s worth noting that Lyari alone experiences the theft of more than 300,000 units of electric power annually. A spokesperson for K-Electric reiterated the company’s dedication to taking action against electricity theft in collaboration with customers, local representatives, and elected officials. The spokesperson also praised the support of law enforcement agencies and various organizations in their efforts to curb electricity theft. Illegal connections not only compromise the integrity of the power distribution network but also pose significant safety hazards to communities and residents.

K-Electric emphasizes that its infrastructure is laid down according to strict engineering and safety standards overseen by qualified professionals. Unauthorized access to the network not only disrupts power supply but also increases the risk of accidents and safety hazards. The spokesperson emphasized that K-Electric will continue to take action against defaulters and illegal connections. They urged the public to support K-Electric’s efforts in combating the “kunda mafia” and reducing electricity theft.
