With rising circular debt and line losses posing challenges to the electricity distribution system, K-Electric is working closely with law enforcement agencies and other institutions to crack down on individuals and entities involved in electricity theft.
The operation resulted in the removal of 2800 kilograms of wire used in illegal connections, emphasizing the scale of the problem in these areas. It’s worth noting that Lyari alone experiences the theft of more than 300,000 units of electric power annually. A spokesperson for K-Electric reiterated the company’s dedication to taking action against electricity theft in collaboration with customers, local representatives, and elected officials. The spokesperson also praised the support of law enforcement agencies and various organizations in their efforts to curb electricity theft. Illegal connections not only compromise the integrity of the power distribution network but also pose significant safety hazards to communities and residents.
