LAHORE – The University of Health Sciences (UHS) 79th Syndicate meeting decided that the degrees would be issued within three months of the announcement of final examination results of MBBS.
The UHS made this decision to eliminate the need for candidates to wait for an extended period.
The decision was taken in the syndicate meeting with Vice-Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore in the chair.
The meeting also decided to minimize the time taken for degree preparation.
Furthermore, the syndicate decided to label degrees and transcripts issued on the court orders, with “By Order of the Court” .
The Syndicate also approved UHS’s new service structures for 2024.
A decision was made to issue a public notice from UHS regarding the inclusion of pharmacy colleges.
Following this, institutions located within the geographical boundaries of Punjab will be able to apply for inclusion according to UHS Act. Approval was given to initiate a four-year BSN nursing program at UHS.
Members were informed that currently, 79 nursing institutions are affiliated with the university. The nursing degree program will commence at the Jinnah campus of UHS.
Additionally, it was decided to make entry into the MS nursing program conditional upon three years of mandatory service after obtaining the degree. Such candidates can either obtain the degree upon payment of the full fee or be exempted from program fees upon fulfilling a three-year bond with UHS after obtaining the degree. The meeting also approved various administrative appointments.
Vice-Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Pro-VC UHS Professor Nadia Naseem, Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Professor Sofia Farooq, Professor Arshad Cheema, Dr. Zahid Parvez, Professor Sidra Saleem, Professor Sarah Ghafoor, Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Professor Maryam Malik, Professor Samina Kausar, and Additional Secretaries of the Health and Treasury Departments were present at the meeting.
