Lahore, Punjab weather update; scattered rains, dust-raising winds predicted

LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted dust-raising winds and scattered rains for Lahore and parts of Punjab on Sunday evening/night and Monday.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is approaching the upper parts.

Under these conditions, dry weather is expected in most districts of the province and hot with dust-raising winds in southern districts on Sunday evening/night and Monday. However, light rain/drizzle with wind/thunderstorm is expected in Murree, Galyat, Attock, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and surroundings.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 32-34 degrees Celsius on Monday and 33-35 C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, Murree received 01 mm of rain.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 34 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 70 per cent.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 33 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 53 per cent.
