At least eight people were killed in Balochistan province, including seven struck by lightning, where 25 districts were battered by rain and some areas were flooded.
People living in open, rural areas are at greater risk of being struck by lightning during thunderstorms.

As torrential rainfall continued to wreak havoc in Balochistan on Wednesday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted downpours in parts of Sindh — including Karachi — as well for the next three days.
According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, relevant departments have been instructed to take safety measures to deal with the “extraordinary situation” created by the rains.
“Balochistan Chief Minister [Sarfraz Bugti] has directed various commissioners and deputy commissioners to monitor the situation,” Rind said.
