The local leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have welcomed the entry of ShaheedMohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s daughter and granddaughter of ShaheedZulfikar Ali Bhutto, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari in politics terming it a new chapter in the politics of Pakistan.
In this regard, a ceremony was organized at the National Press Club here Monday by the Vice President of the Pakistan People’s Party, Dubai, Mootloob Shah and the local chapters of the party to celebrate Aseefa Bhutto’s formal launch in politics.
It may be mentioned here that earlier in the day, the Speaker of the National Assembly administered the oath to the young Bhutto as a Member of the National Assembly. She has been elected unopposed on the seat that fell vacant after her father President AsifZardari assumed the office of the President.
A large number of the local PPP workers and leaders participated in the celebrations.
President Pakistan Women’s Wing Natasha Daultana also participated in the event.
While speaking on the occasion, Matloob Shah said the launch of Aseefa Bhutto in the Lower House of the Parliament will further strengthen the cause of democracy and pave the way for empowerment of women. She will emerge as a leader of the people particularly the women, youth and the working class, he said.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari will raise the voice of women, and carry forward the vision of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed in the National Assembly. Her entry has infused a new spirit in the party, he said.
On the occasion sweets were distributed among the workers after the ceremony and workers also chanted party slogans.
