Incarcerated chairman of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has urged well-off individuals to assist the poor, needy, and orphans during Eid ul Fitr. He also called for austerity and simplicity in observing the holiday.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar jail, Shah extended his greetings to Muslims worldwide, particularly those affected by conflict and violence in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Palestine and elsewhere in the world. He prayed to Allah to alleviate their suffering and grant them freedom and peace.

Shah expressed concern over the ongoing violence in Palestine and Kashmir, where innocent civilians have been killed by occupation forces. He emphasized the need for Muslim unity and solidarity against oppressive regimes.

Regarding the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, Shah expressed optimism that the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people would not be in vain. He reaffirmed their commitment to continue the liberation struggle until its successful conclusion.

Shah praised the resilience and determination of the Kashmiri people, paying tribute to the martyrs who have given their lives for the cause of freedom. He also commended the efforts of Hurriyat activists and leaders in advancing the resistance movement.—KMS
