FM Dar reaffirms desire to further cement Pak-US ties in call with US secy. Antony Blinken

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a telephonic conversation on Friday and both sides vowed to further strengthen bilateral ties in various sectors.

Dar expressed gratitude for receiving a congratulatory telephone call from the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. He mentioned discussing key bilateral issues and reaffirmed commitment to work together to promote cooperation in the economy, investment and counter terrorism.

Dar and Blinken also shed light on a wide range of bilateral issues including enhancing trade and investment relations, climate change, agriculture, and security.

The two sides further exchanged views on regional importance such as situation in Gaza, the Red Sea and developments in Afghanistan, and expressed satisfaction at the current positive momentum in bilateral relations.

The development comes after President Joe Biden wrote a letter to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as two nations pledged cooperation for regional peace and security.
