The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has stepped up its efforts to combat electricity theft, following directives from the Power Division and the Ministry of Interior.
Chief Executive IESCO Dr Muhammad Amjad khan has said on Sunday that by following Honourable Prime Minister Of Pakistan Federal Minister for power division and federal Minster For Interior with collaboration of FIA anti corruption cell and law enforcement institutions we have faster our crack down against running and dead defaulters
He said that both the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Anti-Corruption Cell are actively pursuing cases against individuals involved in electricity theft.
According to detail so far during indiscriminate actions 2551.56 million outstanding dues have been recovered from 100547 running and dead defaulters. Numerous meters and transformers of defaulters have been removed and legal proceedings have also been initiated.
