BISP new quarterly payment Rs10,500 released for each deserving family; check details

LAHORE – The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has started the disbursement of Rs10,500 to deserving families under Kafaalat programme’s quarterly cash assistance (January-March 2024).

Benazir Kafaalat Programme is the core initiative of BISP. It was initiated in the year 2008. Since inception, it has grown to the extent that it is now the largest single cash transfer programme in Pakistan’s history. Short term objective of the programme was to cushion against negative effects of slow economic growth, food crisis and inflation on the poor, particularly women, through provision of cash assistance to eligible families. The long term objectives of programme are to eradicate extreme and chronic poverty, along with women empowerment, as set out in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

BISP is currently providing cash assistance to more than 9 million families under Benazir Kafaalat programme.

BISP 10,500 Quarterly Payment Released

Reports said the BISP has started paying the registered families Rs10,500 quarterly payment for the period of January-March 2024 in all the four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The amount will help the families in reducing their financial burden amid the holy month of Ramadan 2024.

Recently, the government increased the quarterly payment from Rs8,500 to Rs10,500 to help registered families amid inflation.

How to check Eligibility Status

CNIC can be checked on 8171 portal to check the eligibility status of an individual.

Process of receiving cash stipend of Benazir Kafaalat

1- In case female is eligible and declared as beneficiary she will receive an SMS from 8171.

2- On receipt of SMS the beneficiary will be required to visit nearest HBL / BAFL POS / retailer in her tehsil along with her original CNIC to receive the first installment through biometric verification.

3- Next installments may also be received from ATM besides POS/ retailer.
