PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain-wind/thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday and Friday.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A weak westerly wave will likely enter upper parts of the country on Thursday evening/night. It will likely move eastward on Friday.
Under these conditions, light rain-wind/thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills are likely at isolated places in Chitral, Dir and Swat on Wednesday night.
On Thursday and Friday, rain with win/thunderstorms and light snowfall over the hills are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Bajaur, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan and Bannu. Cloudy weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
Peshawar’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 11-13 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 12-14 C on Friday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 33 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 73 per cent.
