ISLAMABAD- An accountability court on Tuesday acquitted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz in three references including Avenfield, Al-Azizia Mills and Flagship reference.

NAB Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana issued the verdict reserved earlier in the day.

Advocate Muzaffar-ul-Hassan appeared before the court on behalf of Hasan and Hussain, and their pleader Rana Muhammad Irfan was also present there.

The court asked about the NAB report to which a deputy prosecutor replied that the Supreme Court verdict was not an hurdle in this and that the court decide it.

The judge while addressing NAB Prosecutor Azhar Mahmood remarked that the court would record his statement.  On it, the prosecutor replied that the court could record his statement.

“This case is not relevant to the NAB amendments, and in this case, the SC had decided the matter till Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar,” said the prosecutor.

The NAB, he said, did not file any appeal against acquittal of Maryam Nawaz whereas Hassan and HUssain were concerned they were accused of abetting and conspiring.

“The central accused in the case of Hassan Nawaz and Husain Nawaz have already been set free,” said the bureau.
