ISLAMABAD – Defense Minister Khawaja Asif revealed that he had signed off on two to three files removing Afghan citizens from the military, including one captain and one lieutenant, during his previous tenure.
He made the revelation during an interview with a news channel while explaining illegal infiltration from Afghanistan and how they managed to obtain the Pakistani identity card to avail the services exclusively entitled to citizens of Pakistan.
He said father of the one of the dismissed Afghan nationals also sent him a letter stating that they owned properties in Quetta. The minister said the Afghan nationals had been disposed off from the military service.
The minister said the Afghan national illegally entered into Pakistan and also managed to get an identity card of the country through illegal means.
Khawaja Asif said that terrorists are currently residing in Afghan territory, except for those three to four thousand brought by the PTI founder in 2022, adding that no more have come since then.
He further said that former military officers, including ex-DG ISI Faiz Hameed, and PTI founder Imran Khan should be questioned for allowing TTP to settle in Pakistan again, removing Nawaz Sharif as prime minister and economic devastation.
