KARACHI – In a remarkable feat, Usama Mir, the leg-spinner for Multan Sultans, set a new record in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) history.
Usama Mir clinched the title of the highest wicket-taking spinner in a single edition of the PSL.
With a tally of 21 wickets in the ongoing edition, Usama Mir surpassed Rashid Khan’s previous record of 20 wickets for Lahore Qalandars in the last edition.
This remarkable achievement places Usama Mir in an elite league of bowlers in the PSL.
Previously, Hasan Ali bagged 25 wickets for Peshawar Zalmi in 2019, Abbas Afridi secured 23 wickets for Multan Sultans in 2023, Ehsan Allah claimed 22 wickets for Multan Sultans, and Faheem Ashraf grabbed 21 wickets for Islamabad United in the 2019 edition.
However, in a single edition of the PSL, Usama Mir stands out as the fastest spinner to surpass all others in terms of wicket-taking prowess.
