CNIC, Smart ID card Fee update March 2024

CNIC or Computerised National Identity Card is a unique identification number issued to each and every Pakistani citizen. The basic ID document generated by NADRA comprises people’s biometric details like fingerprints and iris scans with demographic details like house address and birth date.

The unique factors cuts duplication and fake IDs, enabling access to various government welfare schemes and programs. CNIC works as a proof of identity and hence, is crucial for all citizens to have one.

NIC Smart Card Fee Update

In March 2024, the fee for normal CNIC stands at Rs750 while the urgent fee is Rs1,500. For executive service, it cost Rs2,500.

Apply for New Smart ID Card

To get the new ID card, you can either apply by visiting a NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or through the NADRA website.

For the Smart National Identity Card (SNIC), you can apply on the Pak Identity website and have it delivered to your doorstep. However, you cannot apply for a fresh or new CNIC through the website as per CNIC News.
