LAHORE- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Salman Akram Raja and Sardar Latif Khosa were released from custody on Monday morning.

Shehbaz Khosa, in a statement, expressed concern over his father’s arrest by the station house officer (SHO) Cantt. “We are unaware of the whereabouts of Latif Khosa,” he remarked.

Moreover, the police apprehended Hafiz Farhat Abbas, a PTI-backed provincial assembly member, who was participating in the protest against alleged election rigging.

Similarly, senior party leader and lawyer Salman Akram Raja was arrested by the police from Lahore’s Ichhra area.

The arrests of PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Sardar Latif Khosa followed nationwide protests staged by party members and workers on Sunday. The protests aimed to denounce alleged rigging in the February 8 general election and the purported theft of mandate.

PTI leaders and supporters took to the streets across the country, organizing rallies in various cities of Punjab such as Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while demonstrations also occurred in Karachi, Kandhkot, Tank, and other urban centers.
