ISLAMABAD – Muslims in Pakistan and parts of the world are gearing up for Holy Month of Ramzan, as faithful observe fasting from sunrise to sunset while striving to draw closer to Allah SWT through acts of worship.

As all eyes are on the Ramzan 2024 Moon, Met Office predicted the Ramzan crescent to be born at 2 pm on March 10 (Sunday).

In a statement, PMD said Ramzan’s moon age will be more than 28 hours at the time of sighting next day on March 11.

The country’s top moon sighting body, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has convened a session in capital Islamabad, with zonal committees meeting in their respective cities for moon sightings.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cloudy weather in the central and upper parts of Sindh on March 11 (Monday) due to the influence of a westerly wave. The southeastern part of Sindh is expected to have clear skies, while Balochistan may experience cloudy conditions.

Met Office also stated that upper regions of Pakistan will have cloudy weather due to the western wave, which may not be conducive for moon sighting. In Karachi, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy today and tomorrow, according to the PMD’s predictions.
