ISLAMABAD – Saudi Arabia recruited nurses from Pakistan and other countries as the Kingdom filled vacancies in its hospitals by recruiting para-medical staff from several other regions but a recent scandal has put the Asian nation in bad light.

Reports in local media said Saudi Arabian authorities deported more than ninety Pakistani nurses in an action over alleged falsification of data.

It has been learnt that 92 nurses from Asian countries faced deportation by KSA authorities over unlawful activity.

In a worrying development, the Saudi consulate also hinted at the possibility of imposing a permanent ban on Pakistani nurses. The possible ban could have implications for the Pakistani medical community in Saudi Arabia, where thousands of Pakistani nationals, including medical professionals, are employed.

Pakistani doctors and nurses are known for their exceptional skills and expertise in the KSA, and other countries as paramedics made significant contributions to the healthcare industry across the globe.

Officials are yet to share any statement on the matter.
