Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Friday directed concerned officers that on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat, citizens should not have any difficulty in visiting graveyards for offering Fateha at the graves of their relatives.
Cleanliness, lights and water should be provided inside the cemeteries and in the outer part of the graveyards, there should be no sewerage or filth inside the graveyards, all the municipal staff will be present in the cemeteries on Shab-e-Barat, he said this on Friday on the occasion of an emergency visit of the city along with the Municipal Commissioner KMC S.M Afzal Zaidi, Mayor’s Special Representative for Political Affairs Karamullah Waqasi, M.D Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Zubair Ahmed Channa, Deputy Parliamentary leader of the People’s Party in the City Council Dil Mohammad and other elected representatives and concerned head of departments of KMC.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab during this visit went to Essa Nagri Graveyard in East District, Sakhi Hassan Graveyard in Central District, Muhammad Shah Graveyard in North Karachi and reviewed the arrangements being made for Shab-e-Barat there, during which the Director Cemetery KMC briefed him and told about the arrangements made. During his visit to the graveyards, he also interacted with the citizens and listened to their problems, he said that citizens are only concerned about their problems, I have come before Shab-e-baraat to review the arrangements so that these arrangements can be improved, wherever necessary.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that a large number of citizens visit to graveyards on Shab-e-Barat and it is the duty of local bodies to provide facilities to them, kmc is making arrangements for shab-e-baraat in its own graveyards and the efforts are being made to facilitate citizens on this occasion.
