Pakistani businessman Zafar Siddiqui passes away in Dubai

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s prominent business and media personality Zafar passed away in Dubai after a prolonged illness.

Siddiqui was battling cancer and was being treated in a UAE hospital. The details about funeral prayers are yet to be announced by the family.

Condolences started pouring in for Siddiqui who was a prominent figure in Pakistani media world. His demise marks the end of an era in the media landscape.

Zafar spent nearly two decades at KPMG and then entered the TV industry. His expertise in finance and management provided a strong foundation for his ventures in media.

He was behind the launch of TeleBiz, a Pakistani TV production house focusing on delivering top-notch business programs to global broadcasters. He then expanded his influence by launching the CNBC business network across the Middle East.

Siddiqui established CNBC Pakistan in 2005 and CNBC Africa in 2007, besides playing a key role in establishing Samaa TV in 2009.
