Chairman & CEO of Pakistan Observer, Mr Faisal Zahid Malik visited China on the invitation of the Chinese Government. During his visit to Guangzhou, a dinner was hosted in his honour by Consul General of Pakistan, Mr Sardar Khan who also presented a souvenir to Mr Faisal Zahid Malik on the occasion.

Under President Xi Jinping, China has emerged as a global leader seeking peaceful relations with world powers and playing a crucial role in conflict resolution among various countries, further asserting its role as a global peacemaker.

These views were expressed by Chairman & CEO of Pakistan Observer, Mr. Faisal Zahid Malik, in a meeting with Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, Mr. Sardar Khan.

Mr. Faisal Malik, who is currently visiting the port city of Guangzhou in Southern China on the invitation of Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television & Tourism Bureau and China Southern Airlines, paid rich tributes to President Xi Jinping’s dynamic leadership, saying he had emerged as a towering personality with the foresight to usher in a new era of development in the world.

Referring to the Chinese President’s third term, Mr. Faisal Malik said it was again the biggest motivation and expressed his confidence that under the leadership of President Xi, the people of China would continue their march towards success and glory. He also appreciated Chinese mediation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Iran. This further cements China’s global leadership role for international peace.

Regarding Pakistan-China relations, he said, “Pakistan is benefiting greatly from President Xi’s brainchild project, the Belt & Road Initiative (B&R), of which the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a flagship project. The project has proven to be a game-changer for Pakistan’s economy, generating hundreds of thousands of employment opportunities and huge economic activity, he said.

CPEC, with an investment of over US $62 billion, has brought the promise of economic prosperity and stability for Pakistan at a time when investment was a far cry and the country was facing the worst financial challenges. Last year, both countries celebrated the 10th anniversary of CPEC and agreed to continue their cooperation for the common good and benefit of their people. Regarding Pakistan Observer’s role in promoting China-Pakistan relations, he assured the CG of his newspaper’s continuous support in furthering Pak-China ties.

Earlier, the Pakistan Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. Sardar Khan, welcomed Mr. Faisal Malik to Southern China’s port city and later hosted a dinner in his honour. Sardar Khan appreciated Mr Faisal’s views and goodwill. He noted that the bond of friendship between China and Pakistan would grow stronger with such exchange of visits from the two sides, as Pakistan-China friendship is higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the oceans.
