ISLAMABAD – In another major development, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday suspended the victory notifications of PML-N leaders including Tariq Fazl Chaudhary, Anjum Aqeel and Raja Khurram Nawaz from three constituencies of Islamabad.
A IHC division bench comprising Justice Mian Gul Hassan and Justice Arbab Tahir passed the order on an Intra-Party Appeal (IPA) challenging victories of the PML-N leaders from NA-46, NA-47 and NA-48.
Anjum Aqeel contested election from NA-46, Tariq Fazl Chaudhary from NA-47 and Raja Khurram Nawaz from NA-48.
Zulfi Bukhari had challenged the victory notification of Raja Khurram Nawaz from NA-48.
PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen who contested election from NA-47 had filed the appeal in the Islamabad High Court challenging victory of Tariq Fazl Chaudhary.
The division bench remarked that who was issuing such notifications from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Shoaib Shaheen had challenged the order of the single bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq who had dismissed the appeals against the results of the said constituencies.
