The notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been leading fresh crackdowns, further exacerbating tensions in the already militarized territory. “The Modi regime’s intensified crackdown operations are clear evidence of its frustration in subduing Kashmiris,” remarked a local activist, speaking on condition of anonymity due to security concerns. “But no amount of repression can extinguish the flame of freedom burning in the hearts of the Kashmiri people.”
