Jamaat-e-Islami loses all seats in KP after votes recounting

BAJAUR – Jamaat-e-Islami remains in dire straits as the right-wing party fails to grab a single seat in the National Assembly and only a few in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but recount in PK-17, PK-20, and PK-21 took all seats from the party.

Jamaat-e-Islami fielded over a hundred provincial tickets and only managed to secure three seats which are now gone. The unwanted situation comes after the Election Commission decided to recount the votes in KP.

Following the recount, the three remaining candidates of Jamat-e-Islami from PK-17, PK-20, and PK-21 constituencies lost their seats in the general election of 2024.

For JI, Aizaz Ul Malik representing PK-17, Waheed Gul from PK-20, and Sardar Khan from PK-21 victories in their respective constituencies, and a recount was ordered by Election Commission.

In PK-17 independent candidate, Ubaid Ur Rehman secured victory while Anwar Zeb Khan, an independent candidate, won the seat for PK-20. From the PK-21 constituency, Ajmal Khan, an independent candidate declared winner.
